During my time working in primary care I have observed significant deficits in access to quality mental health care for both the geriatric and adult populations including patients with dementia, major depressive disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and substance use disorder. I’ve become focused on helping fill in those gaps in care. So often medications are quickly prescribed to manage complex issues that need an interdisciplinary and holistic approach. I obtained my buprenorphine waiver to help contribute to a solution of the opiate crisis which I have seen devastate the lives of people of all ages. , I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012 and I’m a Board Certified Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. A passion for caring for vulnerable populations lead me to apply and work with the international aid organization Doctors Without Borders where I worked in both Ethiopia and Malawi. , I believe in utilizing “all the tools in the box” to help people reach their mental health and relationship goals. I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughters, and Golden Retriever Charlie.
