Dr. Casey Counter

I am a queer and fat therapist passionate about working with the queer and trans/non-binary community with a particular passion for working with young adults. My approach is guided by a wide variety of therapy modalities and I strive to create an individualized therapy plan for each client based on their specific needs and goals. I love working with folks who identify with the queer, trans, and/or non-binary communities and folks struggling with body love/weight insecurities, anxiety, chronic pain, religious trauma, medical trauma, disordered eating (especially atypical anorexia and ARFID), and ADHD (specifically in AFAB folks). , I am passionate about walking with clients on the path to body acceptance and body love without the influence of diet culture through listening to the body and giving it what it needs. To do this, I use a variety of strengths-based modalities including EMDR, ACT, intuitive eating, nature therapy, and compassion-focused therapy. , My priority is to create a space free of shame and stigma where I can listen without judgment and partner with clients to explore identity, process trauma, and develop a deep love for the self- exactly as it is.
