My name is Emily Montgomery and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I primarily work with children and adolescents with trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, Autism and anger management issues. I have a strength-based, client centered approach and I am empathetic and non-judgmental. I meet clients where they are and I am solution focused. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy if it is appropriate for the client and their needs and developmental level. , I have always wanted to help others but did not know in what capacity. When I was first introduced to social work, I knew it was what I was meant to do. I truly care for others and believe that each individual can overcome their challenges with support and understanding which can in turn, give them a better quality of life. , In our first session, I want to get to know my client as much as they are willing to share or feel is relevant. This may include some information gathering about their interests, current challenges, family and day to day life. I also will want to discuss what their concerns are and hear what they would like to work on.
