I have a passion for helping people learn how to identify and express their emotions so that they can better understand themselves and others. I believe that by learning more about our emotions, we can help ourselves thrive in our relationships with ourselves and the people around us. Currently, I am pursuing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Denver Seminary. Most of my life was spent in Houston, Texas, but I have traded those hot and humid summers for the much cooler climate of Denver. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, reading, and hiking. , As a counselor, I have chosen to work from a primarily emotion-focused counseling theoretical orientation. I also integrate techniques from Gestalt, as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS), into my practice. I strongly believe that the client is the expert of his or her own experience and knows what is best for them. , I believe we are all on our own paths, trying to seek fulfillment in every area of our lives. We are all on a journey to find what makes us happy and gives us purpose. Therapy should be a place where you can feel safe to process whatever life brings you.
