Because trauma affects the brain, body, and nervous system, integrative approaches have been most successful in helping people feel whole again and lead meaningful and satisfying lives. ", Due to its flexible application in terms of alleviating symptoms related to traumatic experiences as well as ongoing issues, I have been using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) alongside other Somatic Therapies to help people let go of emotional baggage and create environments in which they can feel safe and thrive. , EMDR and Somatic Therapies like Meditation and Mindfulness are evidence-based modalities that have well documented success in treating not only PTSD as well as trauma related disorders but also mood disorders, anxiety disorders, reaction to severe stress and adjustment disorders, grief, phobias, and somatic disorders.
