Joshua is proud to see his 16th as a practicing, licensed psychotherapist, starting his training doing intensive -support and psychotherapy with chemically dependent adolescents and their families in a non-profit community clinic that would foster his love for unconventional, pro-community approaches to mental health care and addiction counseling. His work continued in the form of advocacy and clinical trauma counseling with sexually abused and exploited children/teens for the State of Connecticut Special Victims of Crime Act Program (VOCA). , His journey progressed to family advocacy, support, and direct counseling services with the active duty families of all the U.S. Armed Forces branches via the Department of Defense program, Military Family Life Counseling, with which he would support for nearly a dozen years, at over 33 military bases in the U.S. as a clinician and Operational leader. , In addition to holding an M.A. in Child, Couples, & Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, Joshua holds a M.S. in Gender Studies, where his work detailed the deleterious effects of gender stereotyping on men. His counseling style is energetic, positive, unconventional, supportive, and challenging.
