About Us
Hello! I am Jessie L. Howard, PhD and I am a licensed professional counselor serving children, adolescents, and adults in and around Southern Delaware. Over my years as a counselor, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults who have struggled with living and coping with many different mental health disorders and life experiences, some of which include anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem issues, patterns of self-harm, adoption, divorce, anger management issues, various traumatic experiences, and peer, family, and relationship conflicts. Some days, I am also joined in office by my English Mastiff, Sully! , My ongoing training, knowledge, and experience with clients have given me a wealth of resources and tools for helping people cope with and overcome life challenges and tragedies. I have a passion for treating trauma and am proud to be one of the few therapists in the area who is nationally certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. , My counseling style is warm, collaborative, and not without a sense of humor. Through a therapeutic connection, I can guide you to use new tools to tackle your issues head on. My approach combines various counseling theories and techniques to best meet your needs. I feel proud and privileged to do what I do and I look forward to taking this journey with you!
