About Us

According to the German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.” I disagree! Instead, trauma, if left unprocessed/untreated, it has the potential to cause unnecessary and significant mental distress. Throughout our lives, we, the vast majority of us, may experience traumatic events (micro and/or macro). During these trauma(s)—our role is simple—Survival. After the event(s), when we find ourselves on the other side of the trauma(s), again—our role is simple—To Go On With Life. , Within time, the side effects of the trauma(s) begin manifesting themselves—in terms of addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, helplessness, hopelessness, self-harm, and/or other maladaptive behaviors. The bottom-line, we experience a sense of loss of our previous self, of our personal safety, of our power and control. , As your therapist, I will provide a safe, non-judgmental, empathic, and compassionate environment where you will be able to process these events as you gain insight and understanding about your life. You are the expert in your life; my role is to assist in facilitating your safe journey.
