My approach to psychotherapy is the time-honored psychoanalytic method, which seeks resolution of the deep-rooted, underlying issues leading to emotional distress. I have experience working with a range of conditions, including mood, personality, and psychosomatic disorders. I have particular interest in the psychotherapy of borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia, and in working with individuals who have not previously, or only partially, responded to treatment. In addition to my private work, I hold faculty appointments in psychiatry at the University of Central Florida and Tufts Medical School. , I received my academic and clinical training at the University of Pittsburgh and its affiliated psychiatric hospital, where I have also worked on staff, and completed additional postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I am actively involved in the didactic teaching and supervision of psychiatry trainees. , I maintain a solo, independent private practice and typically see patients during the week in the daytime and evening hours.
