I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who would like support and assistance to make changes in their lives. I often work with clients to improve their relationships, find healthy ways to cope with anxiety and/or depression, or to stop engaging in behaviors that have become problematic. I believe we sometimes develop coping strategies that work in one circumstance or developmental stage and then become ineffective as our lives change. , I validate how behaviors were adaptive in the past and help clients develop new skills to achieve life goals in the present. I use mindfulness-informed approaches that support clients in becoming more aware of their internal process and more compassionate toward themselves. , Many clients have said they appreciate my non-judgmental attitude and warmth as well as my sense of humor. I play an active role in therapy sessions; I do not remain silent. I share about myself and am interested in teaching skills and providing assignments when clients find these helpful.
