Therapy clients may be seeking insight, new ways of coping, relief from suffering, or to be less alone with life’s challenges. I draw flexibly from many approaches, and ultimately, I believe it is the relationship that heals, as well as learning to be a kind friend to oneself. I believe that good mental health means feeling you have choices and making them consciously. Many of my clients strive to be more fully themselves. My practice has a focus on the BGLTQ+ Community, especially trans, gender diverse, and polyamorous people, and I also tend to see a lot of geeky and neurodivergent people. , I begin the psychotherapy process with a structured evaluation where I get to know what brings you to therapy, your background, and your goals and challenges, and then transition to a more open-ended process focusing on what comes up for you. You can expect a warm, active, non-judgmental approach that centers and flexes to your individualized needs. , I work to maintain awareness of my own biases, and as a therapist, I validate the realities of oppression and internalized bias that my clients come up against. Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time, ready to return to therapy, or looking for something different in a therapist, I’d be happy to talk about whether I would be a good fit.
