The focus of my practice is with adults, couples and teenagers. The focus of my work with clients include issues of trauma, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. I have had many years of experience with traumatized clients as well (sexual and physical abuse). My ideal client is one who is ready to work in therapy--to discover and get to the bottom of it all. My goal is to create a safe and accepting environment where one can open up and begin to deal with inner conflicts and pain. , In my practice I use a model of therapy called Internal Family Systems, or IFS. The model helps us get to the heart of issues quickly. I also enjoy working with couples in marital therapy. , Coming to therapy is a very brave act. It is scary and can feel very awkward at first. My ability to build rapport helps clients feel comfortable. They find out quickly that I want to listen and to help. I also have a great sense of humor and will bring that into the work occasionally which also creates a comfortable environment.
