You\re not lazy. Motivation doesn\t exist in a vacuum. For you to make a change, you have to be convinced it\s worth your effort; you need to know that changing will help. A lot of problems that bring folks to therapy (drinking/smoking too much, doom scrolling, binge-eating, isolating, "lack of motivation") are strategic ways of avoiding a larger problem. We start doing these things to help or cope in the short-term, and sometimes it\s at the cost of our long-term well-being. Counseling can help you find your balance. , I work well with college students, high-achieving professionals, and men reluctant to seek counseling. I have a lot of experience working with folks who fall under the "neurodivergent" umbrella (e.g., ADHD, Autism, OCD, Bipolar Disorder) and have secondary issues like depression, anxiety, and addiction that stem from having a brain wired a little different. , I graduated with a BS in Psychology from UMass Amherst and an MA in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Assumption University. I am not overly "clinical," and I like to use a lot of humor in my approach. When we meet, my goal is to make you feel comfortable enough that sessions feel like immersive conversations about whatever is most important to you.
