I try to make a place where your life really matters—a place that facilitates your freedom of thought, speech and feeling. I hope to help you in seeing more clearly the world you find yourself living in, who you imagine yourself to be, and who you understand other people in your world to be. The more clearly you can see your world, the better you can live in that world, and find out how you might change it. , Everyday life—constant hustling, cliché, stereotype, exhaustion, branding, simplicity, and caricature— doesn’t offer occasions to speak freely while being deeply and closely listened to—occasions for real open-minded thinking and talking together. I try to provide conversations that are like holidays from the pressured, superficial texture of modern life. , A lot of human pain comes from a mistaken belief that life cannot change, that there is no other way to live, that we are intolerable, or that our thoughts are unspeakable.
