As a trauma-informed art therapist, I use art as a "power tool" to help clients, in all life-stages, work through creative blocks, fears, addictions, loss and whatever prevents you from living your most fulfilling life. Art is a "whole brain activity", giving us immediate access to self-regulation, attunement, intuitive wisdom and new perspectives. No art experience is needed and the process is equally effective online, using simple art materials from home. My integrated and collaborative approach to art therapy begins with listening deeply to understand and connect with clients and providing a safe and non-judgmental environment. , Using a client-centered approach, the art experience often evolves organically or can be customized around intended mental health, wellness and life goals. This often culminates in rich, meaningful discussion. Clients have the experience of being deeply seen and heard and often leave sessions feeling calm, centered and energized with new perspectives. , " My practice is deeply informed by my decade of designing economic development programs in Africa, building on peoples innate capacity and cultural strengths to create sustainable solutions.
